About Me

Hi I’m Jasmin. I live with my fiance Liam, my daughter Molly and our French Bulldog, Worley (pronounced Whirley). We’re lucky to live within a friendly neighbourhood community in Hove, made up of rows of pretty Victorian and Edwardian properties, several great pubs, decent schools, parks and transport links, and all just a short walk from the sea.

I launched Brick Dust Baby in 2014 as we upsized from my first flat to our first proper family home.

Our first house was a two-bed terrace in Hove. We completed our renovation in two phases. First in 2015 was total rip out, remodel and side return, then in 2018-19 we converted the loft. By the time we’d finished it was a five bed arranged over three floors and when we sold up in August 2020, we smashed the ceiling price in our street by £60K.

We’ve moved to an Edwardian semi, just a few roads away and slightly closer to Hove seafront. It needs full renovation and we’ve had planning approved to build a kitchen extension and loft conversion, as well as remodelling the first floor. Sound familiar?!

As we embark on our next renovation project, I’ll continue to share our experiences, as well as home renovation tips, home decor inspiration and details of the many jobs we’ve undertaken.

I hope you enjoy reading; I’d love to hear your thoughts! xx
