It’s fair to say, thanks to delays on the kitchen extension and the need to move into the house by a certain date (before it will be finished), our renovation has taken a backwards approach.
We’ve been attempting to press on with upstairs, installing new windows, boarding and plastering walls and tiling the bathroom, all before the groundwork for the downstairs kitchen extension was complete. A rookie error, as it meant cracks in the plaster, boards popping out and walls needing to be re-skimmed. We’re learning as we go!
That said, structural works are now complete and upstairs is really coming along. We’ve even managed to sand the floor and do a mist coat (paint) in one room. The prize for the room nearest to being finished goes too… *the master bedroom*!
